We just genuinely really loved each other and wanted the best possible outcome for each other and our families and the world and people to love this movie. Screen Rant: This film has some of my all-time favorite tropes. So I'd work with him a thousand times over. And then Mark Steven Johnson sealed the deal for me, because he's just such an amazing filmmaker in person. When a script does that it can become quite appealing before you even throw in all the seasoning of the fact that it's going to be shot in Verona, and it's all romantic, and it's in a beautiful setting and everything. And very few movies on the page even do that, let alone when they get to screen. Just having that desire to want to do it, you know? To really connect with a character. As Kat said, we read so many movies, and most of them I find very hard to really connect with and kind of get into the story. Tom Hopper: Yeah, and for me, it was so different to look at a movie like this and want to do it. I was like, "I have to do this, I'm meant to do this." There were also little eerie similarities between my own life and the character that was a bit daunting. I read a lot of scripts, and I had never laughed and cried so much at the same time. Kat Graham: It was just such a funny, beautiful script.
